Life Tips

So today I was just really bored I didn't really have much to do really so I searched "What to do when bored" and after I searched I was thinking "Why don't I give other people things to do when bored.. I do have a blog." So that is what I am doing now! So to sum it all up I am going to give you Life Tips I have learned if you need them!!

What to do when bored:
  • Take a shower- Your going to need to take one anyways and plus it leaves you feeling fresh and clean. You have the time so why not?! :)
  • Organize your book bag- Organizing your book bag is a good way to spend your time and for me it really helps me if I need something when I might not find it in a UN-organized book bag when I can if it is organized.
  • Practice school work- If you have anything that you need to get done that you said you would do later or something like that, why not work on it, or if you had a subject you didn't understand study.
  • Watch You Tube- This one might be my favorite!
  • Watch Netflix- If you have a movie that you have wanted to see now is that time!!
  • Do your nails- This one is one that I pretty much never have time for and don't really think about doing but sometimes its OK to pamper your self.
  • Take a nap- This one is good for a Sunday after noon because you have school the next day and with that extra energy you wont be so tired going to school and that's going to help you learn.
  • Go shopping- You might not be able to do this one but if your with your friends and your parents are willing to take you some where this one would be a great one to do.
  • Play with your pets- If you have pets playing with them or taking care of them would be a great way to tell your pets you love them and you could even earn some parent points depending on what you do.
  • Try things out with your make up- I know some people wont be able to do this one but if you do have make up sometimes I just like to go through all of my beauty projects and just try them all out and things like that.
  • Practice a sport- If you play a sport go and practice playing that sport.

Today was Valentines Day and some of you may know that I have a slight addiction to EOS lip balms, and for Valentines day I got two new EOS and I was so exited because the two I got are two that I have wanted for a very long time so I was so exited to get them!! I also got a new charm for my Pandora bracelet and I also love hot chocolate so my parents got me packets of hot chocolate to make. Over all it was a great Valentines day and i hope yours was great also!
February 15, 2015:
Okay so nothing really happened today but what I wanted to talk about something that will be happening soon. So for Christmas a couple days later after Christmas my parents brang this box down, and this box is a very special box because last year I got my phone in this box and so I kinda now that something that I would want to remember type thing I don't know anyways, so this is a special box and so I open the box and in side the box were like more presents ( you know like the paper stuff not raping paper but what ever) anyways so the first one I pick up my Mom and Dad said "You might want to open that one last." So that's what I did and so inside the box with the other presents and I open all the other presents. All the other presents were like books and guides and different things that are related to things in Europe. So once I had opened all the other presents my mom and dad said go ahead and open that last present and so that's what I did. Inside the last present was tickets and hotel room reservations! So it turns out that over spring break my family is going to fly to London, go down to Brussels then go down to Amsterdam and then end the trip and then end our trip in Paris where I am going to meet  up with my Great Aunt (Aunt Pat). The trip is going to be a 14 days long. I am so exited and I'm sure all talk about the trip when I get back. I don't go till spring break so I have a little while but it will be here sooner than later.

My two dogs

I have two dogs named Hannah and Bailey. Hannah is the dog that I have had the longest, I got her for my 4th Christmas. She is a Bichon Frises (Be-shuan Fre-zay) which if you don't know is kind of like a poodle with a longer tall and the hair on its tail is longer, you can look it up and you'll see what I mean. I don't remember exactly what happened when I got her because I was like four but it was Christmas and my parents came home and said Santa told us to pick this present up and you can open it up, so I when over to the present and there was something moving in the box. I opened the box and there Hannah was! I was so exited I was jumping of the walls. I remeber on the night that I got her i song her to sleep. Shes been a great dog and shes is the sweetest little thing you will ever meet. If you ever think about getting a Bichon or thinking about getting a dog at all get a Bichon, they are great pets!!!!  I got my other dog Bailey at the beginning of this school year (around when volleyball season started), the weird thing is that my best friend who was on the volleyball team actually had her before my family did. Her family were looking for a girl dog because they already had a boy dog. So they went shopping for a dog and came back with two dogs! Those two dogs were Bailey and her brother. The decided they could only keep one of the dogs and they decided to keep Baileys brother named Zac. When I heard they were going to give Bailey back to her owner who sold her to my friends I was really sad. I had seen Bailey and I had feel in LOVE with her!!! I asked my mom about her because my family had kind of thought about getting another dog and surprising she said that my parents would think about it. I was so surprised, me and my friend were hoping that we would not have to separate Bailey and Zac because they decided that they where going to keep Zac but not Bailey. We wanted to no separate them because Zac and Bailey were very close and they still are. So my parents talked about it and with a lot of thinking they said yes. We went to go get Bailey from my friends house at we are all really sad but we get in the car and I had Bailey in my lap and she was sleeping and we got her home and she was really nervous because she had never really known my family that well so she was really scared and Bailey meet Hannah and at first I don't think they really liked each other because Hannah had kind of always been the leader of the house so when this random new dog came in she was kid of like ".. No" and so it took a little while for Hannah to get used to having a new dog around the house and she found out that another dog in the house means another friend to play with. Now they are dud's and Bailey and Zac still see each other.

Volleyball

I had talked about volleyball on another page of my blog and so I thought that I should do a page about volleyball for people who don't much about the sport. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything I talked about. I'm going to try my best to explain what volleyball is all about and I'm very sorry if I cant explain it well enough... Volleyball is hard to explain without showing someone how to do it in person.

Volleyball is my favorite sport of all time! I have been playing volleyball for over four years. I have learned a lot about volleyball over the time I have played and I hope to share what I know with you! Volleyball can be very hard at times to learn and get down right and i'll say it over and over again just keep practicing. Rec are great for starters and can help you learn the basic skills. I hope you enjoy this page about volleyball and love it as much as I do and start playing!

One of the very first things that you have to learn and know how to do is calling the ball. Calling the volleyball is one of the key things to know. Calling the ball is to let your team mates know that your going for the ball and that you wan to get it. If people didn't call the ball everyone would run into each other and people(team mates) will think "Ok shes going to get the ball" and you might be thinking the same thing and then you both watch the ball drop to the floor and that's not good. So when you call the ball it's a simple skill but it's a very needed skill to have. So calling the ball is what its sounds like. When you want to get the ball or play the ball you "call" it. So you might be thinking is there things to say... Yes and no. Most people say "Mine", "I got it", or something like that but you can really say anything you want to, the point is to let the other know who is getting the ball. Even thought its seems easy.. this set always gets skipped and forgotten a lot. So every time you want to go get the ball, the first you thing you need to call the ball and after that your ready to make the play.

The first step to playing volleyball is learning how to bump. This may not make as much since just because i can't show you but i will try my best to explain it, if you have any questions just ask me. So when you do a bump you have to get in a ready position. The ready positions is when you have your legs spread shoulder length apart, you don't want you feet in ward but you don't want them to outward to just slant your feet a little, then have your hands out not hanging down but not super stiff just have your hands in front and relaxed. Now when the ball is coming to you you're going to actually bump the ball the other position is just when you are waiting for the ball to come over the net,so when the ball is coming over the net you have two oppositions on how to put your hands. You can either lay your hands together and put your thumbs on top of your hands or you can cup up on hand and wrap your other hand around and put your thumbs on the top of your hands. Once you do that to your hand you let the ball bounce of your arms. You just want to lift your arms up a little but not too much. Learning to bump is hard at first but with some practice you can do it!

So now that you know how to bump a volleyball it time to do the second step, setting a volleyball. Setting a volleyball can be hard and confusing but with practice it can be fun and a useful tool. When you set a volleyball you put your hand on the top of your head. To get the idea a cool thing to do that I learned is, to put your hands like moose ears and lift them up a little and curve them to the shape of the ball and tilt them in so that if you let the ball slip through your hands and hit your nose. When you set the ball you only want your finger tips to touch the ball you don' t want to slap at it, you want to make as little noise as possible.  So you almost flick it with your fingers and push your arms up very quickly. You cant hold the ball it has to be sort of fast. Setting is a very hard skill to learn and it might hurt your fingers at first but with a whole whole lot of practice and you can do it!

The last step of the process is hitting or spiking a volleyball. Hitting is my favorite thing to do in volleyball! I am a hitter for the Neuse Charter Middle School volleyball team and this is what I do so this is my favorite thing to do! Hitting a volleyball is hard and it has many steps you have to have to get a perfect spike so you have to pay attention to every detail. So when you are hitting a volleyball the first thing to do is your foot movement. You start with your right foot in front of you and if you are left handed every thing is opposite for you so you start with your right foot in front and go left, right, left the first step is slow and the last two are fast. When you do the  first step you are facing the net and then turn your right foot the other way bring the left foot and do the same thing and jump up and when you are in the air you make your hands like a bow and arrow. On one of your arms you put your hand by your ear and your other arm is all the way out. This part is a little hard to explain because i cant show you but if you watch the video (that's down below) what I'm saying might make more since. But once you do the bow and arrow you use the hand is strait out and you point that hand to the ball to guide you when you hit the ball. You use the hand that was by your ear and with all the strength you can hit the ball. Hitting is a very hard skill to learn and to do, but with a lot of practice it gets easier and easier.

My Life

Hi my name is Madelyn and I'm going to tell you about my life. I'm in Middle School and this year I made the middle school volleyball team. I have played volleyball for four or five years now. I am a hitter and if you don't know what a hitter it is the person that you see near the front of the net that jumps up on the third hit and is the one who hits the ball over hard. I have a page about volleyball so you can get more information about it over there on that page.

I have two dogs named Bailey and Hannah. I have another page about them so if you want to go read it that would be great!

I spend most of my time playing/practicing volleyball. Volleyball is a very big part of my life for sure. Its a true passion of mine and its my favorite thing in the world!!

Other than playing volleyball i like watching You Tube. I am planning to start a channel sooner or later. I have wanted to have one for a while now but I'm just now getting into the idea of really having one. I don't really know what I will put on my channel but I'm thinking that my whole channel will be like a every thing channel and by that i mean not just having this as my main focus or that as my main focus, i think that ill just do it all!! So my channel will have hair tips, makeup tips, DIY's.. everything. But right now i don't even know if I'm going to have the channel. Ill let people know when I'm going to start it but that's my idea right now.
